Maria is the only UK Professional Underwater Photographer who has been taking underwater photos exclusively with compact cameras since 2001. On her return to the UK five years ago her teaching background inspired her to design the first ever tailor-made courses for Beginners in Underwater Photography without any techno-babble. Her guests are winning competitions and being featured in Diver, Sport Diver, UWP Mag, Scottish Diver and winning prizes overseas. She loves helping people with underwater photography and is available for courses anywhere in the UK as well as giving Inspirational Talks.
She has taught thousands of guests using her easy-to-understand, technical-free jargon throughout the country and has developed a solid reputation for improving guests photographs beyond belief in just a few hours with their Fuji, Canon, Olympus, Sony, Nikon, Intova or Sea & Sea cameras. Three have won Sport Diver UK's Photo of the Month, One has Been a Finalist in BSAC's Travel Photographer of the Year, One is now writing for Diver and London Diver Magazines, One has been published in UWP Mag and another's photo is on the front cover of Scottish Diver. Two more have won overseas competitions in Bonaire! She uses a Canon 20D for her topside shots and a Canon Powershot 570, Canon Ixus 980 or Fuji Finepix F30 for her underwater photographs at present.

Another Course Guest wins Sport Diver "Photo of the Month" and the British Society of Underwater Photographer's Best Beginner of 2009
Dan Norwood has just emailed me to say that he has been voted as my third course guest to have won Sport Diver's "Photo of the Month." He also scooped BSOUP's Best Beginner Portfolio of 2009. I nearly fainted when he told me and moreso when I saw his photos. Jason Starmer was in BSAC's 2008 Travel Photographer of the Year's Final, Patrick Shier's photos are now gracing the cover of Scottish Diver and David Kittos won a photo competition in Bonaire as well as being published in UWP Mag. Howard Sawyer has also seen his work published in both London Diver and Diver Magazine. Phew, what a year for my course guests, they've done a fab, fab job...
